A corked bottle of wine is a defective product, and the winery is responsible for that product. I would no more assume that risk than I would assume the risk of a defective car.

Can't compare the French (although I would love to), but I buy from stores that pay attention to temperature, and not from those that don't. Wine is fraught with enough perils (e.g., corked, cooked in transit). Wine cooked in the store is easily enough avoided.

Maytag is in his 70's, so this is not really a surprise, is it? Has anyone had the collaboration ale that he made with Sierra? Really good stuff
