The proliferation of great beer in the US probably wouldn't be what it is today without Fritz Maytag. Hopefully, the new owners don't fuck it up.
 
Yeah, Anchor is one of the few domestic breweries where I like everything they make. I don't see anything particularly reassuring in the article about the guys taking it over, but who knows. Ideally I'd love to see it go to someone that didn't look to be interested in collecting beer and spirits companies.
 
My very first thought when I read about that was: well, that's just great, one address for all the men who look at cleavage photos on Facebook to get their one-stop-shopping on. [sad/ironic emoticon goes here]

I have to admit, though, the actual instigator is enormously clever about it all. Also, that she's obviously awesomely smart is relentlessly hot, but that's my own personal issue to deal with.
 
Maytag is in his 70's, so this is not really a surprise, is it? Has anyone had the collaboration ale that he made with Sierra? Really good stuff
