I'll be spending some time in Squaw Valley in December and thought I might as well check if by any chance there were people in the neighborhood interested in an offline.

I'll be free in Squaw Valley on the evening of 12/6 and will be flying home out of Reno/Lake Tahoe airport Tuesday so Monday night is free for either location.

Perhaps I can do it...although a drive to Reno in December is dicey.
 
Just fixed the dates (I was looking at the November calendar instead of the December calender). Looks like Steve Timko might be arranging something since he's out in the area, it would be great if you could join us though I quite understand if the weather makes it problematic.

Perhaps once we have details we could wait on the weather reports for those days?
 
Right now it looks like it will be at a Peruvian cafe unless there's a strong preference for sushi, but the wait at this sushi place can be long. It's gotten popular.
The place is called El Tumi. It's on Moana Lane in a strip mall near Kietzke Lane.

They close at 8 p.m. so we should be there at 6 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.
This is how I described it to Jay:

We can bring a much wider range of wines. The down side is that it's not esepcially elegant. And some of the food can be a bit uneven. Not really gourmet.

There's beef and chicken dishes that are excellent. Where it becomes uneven is that on one of the dishes it's obvious they used frozen peas and carrots instead of fresh. And I think the soups are made from powdered mixes instead of scratch. But it's also reasonably priced. They have a quarter chicken dinner for $6 that's quite tasty. I don't believe they charge for corkage, but their glasses are poor. We need to bring our own.

We might move this to Sezmu if maybe Devlon could call and get them to waive their two-bottle limit.

Edit:
Sezmu is now closed on Monday. So that option is off the table.

I think diminished expectations is the operative phrase here.

The crispy duck with shrimp mousse was pretty good at Chi (unlike the horrible buffet I had for lunch). The lychee martini didn't taste anything like gewurtztraminer though. Disappointing.
