Arsne Jeebus

I'm DVRing the game tomorrow vs. Bolton. I think I'll probably drink a Montesecondo Chianti Classico 2006 while I watch.

I'm thinking Diaby might score. I'm not sure why, just the unpredictability of it.

I'll be attending this jeebus as well, also by DVR. I am just hoping Fabregas completes the game without having one of his legs broken by Bolton.

I'm thinking a 2007 Texier Brezeme is in order for tomorrow night.

why is this just a thread and not a new sub-forum ?
The amount of traffic this will see between EPL and UCL ( not to mention WC later on ) will require special hardware which the politburo can only allocate to a separate discussion forum

scored a brace to knock ManU out of another cup. Gary "fuckwit" Neville is about to get sanctioned by the FA for giving Tevez the finger. I mean, I hate ManU, but there is a special place in hell for Gary Neville. What a terrible fucking hack of a player. I'd rather he played against us than had to sit. Either of the poncy Brazilian twins are an upgrade.

God, it's going to be beautiful to watch the slow trainwreck of ManU over the next couple of years. I honestly think Fergie might lose it and get hauled off the the asylum.

don't write them off yet, as much as I would like to
Last time I checked, they were still in second place, despite having to play susan boyle in center D.

I can't name a ManU player I hate more than Gary Neville. Actually, I can't think of a single player I despise more. Keane was at least one of the great players of his generation and you had to grudgingly admire him (think of a fantasy of he and Vieira in the same midfield).

They're in second until this afternoon. They are obviously floundering and more dependent on Rooney than we are on Cesc.

Not sure I'll have a chance to grab anything, so it might be Heretiques 2007 for me tonight.

Dseko's agent quoted as saying his price is 40MM Euro. What a drag. That kind of money will surely stigmatize a player that is great in the Bundesleague but needs more development to play at the top level. He is not the obviously and precociously gifted Benzema and lacks his pace as well. I think he could become fantastic by coming to Arsenal. More likely he'll end up wasted at Munich or some such.

if Dseko moves to Milan (his stated preference) then that means we could get Huntelaar cheap, which I still think is a decent bargain and provides a nice second option.

I may actually get a chance to watch live this afternoon, although on Mute. No spoilers, I suppose?

Dzeko will need to move. He is not in the WC this year; Wolsburg is going nowhere this season, so he won't see any European action next year either.

Definitely no spoilers, I'm watching on DVR delay.

Agree totally on Dseko. I'm surprised that Wolfsburg think they can get 40MM for him. I really see the market softening except for the real blue chip players that only a few clubs can afford.

It's like driving on a double-wide highway lane.

So, did you watch the game? Can I say nice one? Enjoy the top while it lasts.

I watched a stream of the Liverpool game on my laptop at work... didn't get the tie I was hoping the Spurs would hand Rafa.

(from a blog on bbc):

As Tevez inflicted the blows that gave Manchester City a slight advantage amid the domestic warfare of this Carling Cup semi-final, he went through his tick-list of targets as he remembered those who dared to doubt him.

Tevez reacted to equalising from the spot by gesturing in the general direction of Gary Neville, who backed Ferguson's assertion that financial demands made the Argentine too expensive to keep at Old Trafford.

Oh, and it's too bad that Rafael couldn't keep up with Bellamy (though the foul did look outside the box).

Another sparkling display by Cesc. He is sure as hell making a case for POY.

I thought Almunia had a pretty decent game despite the two goals. He came strong and grabbed the ball a few times.

The two goals weren't a fluke, they pressured us. It is amazing the difference between having Song and not.

Not sure what is up with Gallas and Vermaelen. They would out jump Davies (what great layoffs too) and still lose the header. (As an aside, I don't think Gallas meant to hurt the other Davies, but it was certainly a foul.) I agree with the commentator that they should lay off him and collect the second ball. This used to be the Brazillian strategy against more physical teams. Not a bad idea as we are quicker and more athletic.

Nice to have Clichy back. Did you notice that it shut down their right flank.

Sagna looks a little less than fit. Did you notice how he can't throw the ball in?

Diaby had his normal up and down performance. More down than up, really.

Denilson looked rusty. That was a penalty, without a doubt.

Arshavin and Rosicky both looked dangerous all match. Rosicky's goal was a cracker. When you can hear the ball slap the net on TV, you know he knocked the stitching out of it. Contrary to what the announcer said, I don't think Jussi had a chance of getting that ball it was so venomous.

Eduardo looked sharper, but maybe half a yard off the pace. His movement and reading of the game was excellent, he just seemed to lack a bit of quickness to get separation.

Nice to see Theo back. I would have liked to see him earlier, especially since they were playing a high line.

All-in-all, a great result and puts us at the top. Pray for Cameroon to lose today so we can get Song back.

You are being a little kind to Eduardo. You are being very kind to Diaby. Still, both of them assisted on a goal - Diaby won a difficult air ball for the third goal, and the one-two between Eduardo and Arshavin was a near copy of the first goal from the weekend's game.
Don't get me started on Sagna. A complete lack of offensive threat from LB and RB positions, at least when compared to just about any other top team in Europe, is puzzling. One explanation, at least yesterday, is that since Gallas and Vermaelen go up so much, the other two have to cover.

Damn Eto'o

Cameroon got a draw. They advance. Shit.

I wish Song would tank international duty. Oh well.

you have to be more positive! Have you ever watched The Replacements?

All I've got to hang my hat on is the fact that Ipswich Town are both out of the relegation zone in the Championship and their youth team knocked Arsenal out of the youth FA cup. That being said, Arsenal is by far my favorite non-Ipswich based team in England.

And I'm not just sucking up...

Cheers,

Kevin

caught a replay of Barca-Valladolid last night. Just sat there staring, with my mouth wide open, which was kind of convenient given how great the Godme Extra Brut GC was.
Arsne better start running a boot camp.
