All Hallows?

Steve - any preference? As GOH we'd by happy to defer the decision making to you. It mostly comes down to more interesting food vs. convenient location.

If it's after 10/18, then count me in only if it's a Fri-Sat-Sun. (I have a customer in Providence, RI starting then and I may need to go there.)

So far I count it as:

Steve - confirmed
Jay - confirmed
Salil - confirmed
Jeff - confirmed
Kirk - confirmed
Cornelia - confirmed

Actually, I unfortunately have to back out. (grumble)

you'd prefer me to do it. (I will caution, having just returned from dinner at Hearth, that recently (last month and tonight very markedly) their Sunday night service team is definitely not made up of their strongest players. Food is still excellent, but service, especially the wine service, is not up to its usual standard. I think with some warning, we won't have any problems, but it will require a conversation or email or 2 with Paul to make it all work.)

And it will be Halloween, a stupid stupid night in NYC.

Can we do our own pouring?

I emailed Paul just now, but I'm not in the habit of negotiating corkage, so if you are, please step forward.
Also, I've poured for my table there, a time or two, and nobody seemed to mind.

cool; i'll shoot paul a follow up email. (Obviouslyly mine will be without your gravitas, Steve, but Paul has always been kind to me.)

By the way. have you already made to the booking with the resto (phone or open table), or were you also doing that via email to Paul?

Hoping we can mix it up; order some from his list and carry in some too.

Paul has us down for 7:30, and the table is ours for the night. Feel free to bring what you like. Considering that we are meeting on the night when the membrane between the worlds of the living and the dead are most permeable, I would like very much to drink something from Marcel La Pierre. Kermit's store here in Berkeley doesn't have a bottle of anything from Marcel, other than Raisins Gauloises, and I feel a very strong need just now for the real McCoy. Would love to drink the '09, even if it's a baby.

I will bring some Lapierre's. I have '09 and '08 and '07 MMVII; I can bring all or any. Don't think I have any older ones.

I'll try to provide something worthy of the occasion.

Have you ever failed to do that?!

Sounds like it will be a fun time. Sorry I can't join. I have to drive up to MA early the next morning to teach. But will be with you in Morgonic spirit.
