Seattle Jeebus April 28th

I have too many damn fun things, including an amazing cava (even if it doesn't yet bear VS' brand of approval). Already planning on cabbing it back from the wilds of Ballard.

So Jim's been a little quiet. Sounds like we have BJ + Mlle L, myself, Lee, and Marc + MJ as maybes. We're on for next weekend?

Let's set the 28th, if we default to our place, no sweat. But it sounded like it worked for Jim, he said he'd be out of touch a while...(our place rustic but we'll make work)...

You can't beat Barca at their own game, as we well know, so you have to do something different. There was a beauty to this match in the big blue banks of four surging forward on the break, trampling little Spaniards underfoot.

there was a touch of men vs smurfs about that first madrid goal, no?

fb.

Valdez was totally caught out. Not used to defending corners in La Liga, I suppose.

Second goal was pure, counter-attacking bliss. Beautiful ball by Ozil.

Yes, we're on for the 28th.
Edited the master thread to remove the ??

Have the 99 Foillard in hand now, the bottles look good.
Bought multiples of 96, 97, and 98 Stony Hill Chard from the same guy.
Opened a 98 last night it was pretty darn good.

I'll email the logistics.

I would still put things at 50-50 or maybe 60-40 Barca. Can't wait.
Well worth the wait. As someone who roots for Chelsea I'll spend the rest of the week trying to untie my stomach.
(Sorry to encourage the thread hijack, locals)

Unfuckingbelieveable.

Terry is such a stupid git.

What a ball by Lampard to Ramires. Classic Mourihno football.

Will Chelsea ever get out from under his shadow?

Ramires' one touch chip was as pretty as it gets.

Drogba could have had a successful career as a defender. Minus the PK (which was pretty much BS) he was amazing in the backfield.

Messi who?

Re-watch the goal, Ramires doesn't even have to break stride. The finish is lovely, I'll grant you, but that was a perfectly weighted ball. Xavi-esgue, one might say.

How shitty was Valdes?

Drogba has the heart of a lion. I'll miss him when he's gone.

Messi who?

Not his fault. No plan B.

More a comment on the brilliant defense than Messi.

Surprised Alvez didn't make something happen (besides the offsides) toward the end. He was hungry. If they scored again I was expecting it to come from the right.
Valdes was a total shit show. two shots, two goals. Cech was brilliant.

Speaking of defense and Messi. I'm amazed at how often he wins the ball back.

Alvez's pushing up is why Barca are caught on the break. Can't stand him.

Both Valdez and Casillas have issues with robust play. They're little. I've never understood why English teams don't just get all English on Barca. 4-4-2 with wingers flying down the sides. I'm assuming that's why SAF bought Ashley Young. Barca's big weakness is pace at the back and over-committing their fullbacks high.
