The crispy squab is sort of made for N. Rhone. Not that I have any on hand at the moment but just FYI.

Jeff - if you're making the reservations and have any communication trouble ask for Michael. He speaks the best English on the staff. When you reserve give the date rather than the day. Asking for Thursday March 28 might get you the upcoming Thursday rather than the date you want.

Jay, if they know you then may we ask you to make the rez? I have only been there twice and was not in charge either time.

I have three N. Rhone in my house now and, Jay, you have a month to pick some up from down the street (...your storage is close, as I recall).
 
They know me in the sense that I have made 2 reservations there one of which they got wrong. But sure.

And given the local audience I guessed that my hints would not fall on fallow ground.

Unfortunately my next storage pull will be from a case that has no N. Rhone.

I'm sure that's what I heard.

Per the Great Hint-Dropper, I can bring syrah (Texier, Balthazar, or Durand) and I'll also bring, maybe, Nikolaihof GV. But I could be talked into '05 Chablis or various young things (riesling, chenin, melon).
 
It dawns on me that, as we are a month out, I can get anything from my storage. That makes a wider variety of Rhone syrah available. Just about anybody you can name, really (though very limited choices on some, like Verset and Chave). And some ESJ, for good measure.

I also have some interesting trousseau.

So long as you're wearing clothes from your trousseau we're good.
 
Well since you asked: I would generally pick Cote-Rotie over Hermitage, unless the Hermitage was from JL Chave. And Noel Verset's Cornas is the one trump card that I would pick over anything else from the Northern Rhone. (I've never had Gentaz.)

But cellar heirlooms aside, yes I am always in favor of people bringing what they most want to drink.
