This and that

I have another oddball circumstance that uses the same category: It is a social event when it is time to pick up the Thanksgiving turkey. I buy from an upstate farm and all City deliveries are done at the same time. What do you bring, when the only person sure to be there is the poulterer, who is not a wino? But sometimes there's a whole roomful of people... a microbiologist, a meditation instructor, a winner of multiple Obie and Drama Desk awards(!), and three or four more.

I'm not sure why, but for some reason this event says "hard cider" to me, preferably NY or VT. Probably the end of autumn timing.

VLM,
I started the project when I turned 60; ended it at 72.
How many folks are chasing their dreams at that age, or able to?
And that I have a little left to enjoy with family and friends is a nice perk.
I’m a lucky guy.
Best, jim

I am 61, and in the process of grafting trees and planting an orchard to find out how well we can grow some Schaarbeek cherries to ferment. They aren't Pinot or Nebbiolo, but they are some damn fine fruit.

You have a world of respect from me, Jim. It is most regrettable that we have all lost a year of travel when those years are becoming much more dear.

Bravo! Fruit (other than grape) wines are underrated IMHO.
