Anyone try their 2002 Chambolle-M's or Corton's?

given my high theoretical expectations for both wines, perhaps it is, as you suggest, a matter of when as much as what.
 
I did have a very nice 2002 Charmes recently from a more modern producer (Magnien) but in general the vintage hasn't shown well for me for a few years. 1999s on the other hand are getting into a nice zone after awhile in which they were, well, like the 2002s are now.

Count me in the decant off sediment camp.

About 15 years ago I flogged a poor tasting group where I mandated pop and pour after a shipping rest on $10000s of dollars of fine aged Burgundy because "you don't decant Burgundy". I had read it from some MW journalist type. I think we just trashed it all, and a couple years of Thursdays.

Would NEVER do that now.

Frederic. I believe that's the only one who makes a Charmes.
