Beaujolais Glass

What glasses do the good people of WD drink their Beaujolais from - Burgundy? Chimney? Champagne?

It has been chimney for me, for no particular reason, but I'm trying and erring with Burgundy stems now.

You haven't yet bought the Riedel 7-9 year Cru Beaujolais glass? I prefer the Morgon version, but I hear that the flaring of the lip on the Fleurie version is also nice.

Flaring lips are all the rage.

Well, Steve, that's a spit bucket. Even in our local Beaujolais bacchanalia we draw a line.

True fact, Michael, the first draft of my query included a quip about Riedel, subsequently omitted. after reading your reply, I've verified online that Riedel actually does make 'Beaujolais' glasses - two, in fact, of which one is specifically for nouveau. Curiously, retsina remains unaddressed in the 84-page catalog.

Eric and Jeff, point taken! Do you also drink, say, Morgon Foillard Cote de Py - with a few years on it - out of juice glasses?

when the strap came loose on the guitar of one of the pickers in his band, and it crashed to the floor in the middle of a tune, Bill Monroe is reputed to have said: "well, now, that's just perfect..." I was reminded of that, somehow, reading this thread. Sorry for any confusion.
