Pleasant-value wines

A search on the internet shows the 16 listed at 14.5% and the 19 at 15% (or at least a review from Gilman that lists it at that--amazingly, from Gilman, a positive review, no less). So they do change the ABVs on the label. I still share Pavel's skepticism about that number. But, I haven't tasted the wine. I am astonished enough at Gilman's review to want to revisit wines from the domaine. I gave them up after 06. On the other hand, I'm an old man and should probably just stick with what I know I like. I had a bottle of the 01 VD the other day, and I am nostalgic for that wine, though.

What you quote is not Gilman but Rare Wine Company as copy. If Gilman wrote such nonsense, I doubt his writing g would carry the weight among some here that it does.

Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard Hook Vineyard Santa Lucia Highlands Grenache '19 -- A tasty wine that might be appealing to folks here, even those who lean away from Grenache. The label presents fair comments mentioning cool growing conditions, raspberries, white pepper, bright acidity.

It worked well with sausage, Mother Stallard beans, and brown rice, then oatmeal cookie with blueberries.
