This was a great, if young, wine when we drank it ca 2001. Good to hear that it’s still doing well (though not surprising).

The proper spelling is jarret, not jaret.

Snapper, in French, is vivaneau, not "snapper."

And, par contre, I would have left bouillabaisse untranslated rather than described since the word is virtually English, now, as well.

Chef's choice, not "chef'choice',

Appetizers, not "apetizers"

and

mint not "minth."

Let the games begin!
 
Yes, in my mind, the Montelena '87 has always been a highly acclaimed classic. I bought a bunch of it on release and still happily have 6 bottles left, I believe.

Maybe 1/8" inch discoloration on the somewhat crumbly cork, lots of black sediment, very (surprisingly) inky color, wonderful Cab bouquet, and all the right components on the palate. Amazing retention of vitality after ~33 years.

Worked well with the lamb shank and the chocolate mousse cake.
