TEA disorder

Try Simpson & Vail, a family owned business in CT. Their selection isn't as extensive as Upton, but they have some interesting teas.

Their Colombian green teas are surprisingly good. You just have to snap out of your Japanese green tea mode, if you happen to be stuck in one.

Over the years, I have bought a few teas from Song Tea & Ceramics in San Francisco and been very happy with results. They specialize in teas from China and prices are definitely on the high side, sometimes very high. Not sure they would match your optimum desired QPR, though.

Song Tea & Ceramics

Second for Song Tea here. Just finished a wonderful batch of Nantou Dark Oolong from them. My appreciation of Oolong teas has skyrocketed since I learned how to brew them properly.

I'd also add I like the folks and many teas at Harney & Sons in NY. Kind of an American version of Mariage Freres, with many single origin and proprietary blends. Best white tea I've ever had (caveat - not my main category) was from Steven Smith in Portland Oregon.

Hey, any recs for Keemun?

A lot of the best Keemun (usually Hao ya) has been degraded in recent years as it's gotten more expensive (like many, many teas).
