La Ciccia has been sold

I know VLM and Florida Jim will be sad to read this. Lorella and Massimo are exiting as of 4/16. They're burnt out and other issues, too. 2 years of pandemic was too much. Restaurant isn't closing. A restaurant group is taking over. It won't be the same without those two running the show.

Friends and I just booked three 4 tops for Tues 4/5.

(apologies for the long URL)

It is a very hard business and I knew they wanted to go home.
Nothing but wonderful memories and my hope that this is, indeed, what they need.
Salute!
Jim

That is really bad news for us loyal admirers, but hopefully will be good news down the road for the wonderful owner couple who are so nice and so capable.

I can't imagine La Ciccia ever being the same after the takeover.

Perhaps someone here can stay in touch with them in case they open another operation in the future. When I was there, I told her she should open another location in my home-town. She just happily laughed.

. . . . . . Pete

Over time, authenticity is one of the things I've come to value most in wines, restaurants, and people. There are times it can seem hard to find. La Ciccia has always been a beacon in that respect. Like many, I'll miss it. But I hope that Massimo and Lorella have a wonderful next chapter. They've given much and earned it.
