Opened one week after removal from my cellar and stored in refrigerator at home: Color is bright gold with faint, green tints. Bouquet is fresh and limestoney/white minerals with yellow citrus/dried yellow spices notes; bouquet has a grainy-minerally-acidic texture. 20 minutes later: I smell high pink fruits (berries) subtly layered into the citrus and stoniness; as the wine warms up, ripe yellow fruit-skins (pears) aroma emerges; the fruit is fine-boned and lively. Taste (cold) is lively and fresh, with brightness of yellow citrus fruits, acidity and minerals; stony/mineral elements and bright acidity predominate at the finish with a yellow lick of fruits and citrus spice. The balance between fresh fruit and minerals/acidity is exquisite. I wondered if this Auslëse GK* might feel heavy in my mouth but, no. I taste fruit on my lips afterwards. Note: I drank it with homemade slow braised corned beef, potatoes, cabbage and carrots. Corned beef was in sandwich with honey mustard (homemade) and fresh sauerkraut and the vegetables were in a bowl. Food and fragrances went very well with this wine. Alc. 7.5%
