Bay Area Jeebus

Alright, we have a 6pm reservation for eight on June 14 at The Wolf in Oakland. Karen, you're in and we have room for one more if anyone wants to join us.

Me neither. But as a former ITB person, a 6 PM rez never, ever works for a Jeebus because you all need to decamp by 8:30 latest when things are just getting going. Best to do a private room buyout that starts early and goes until whenever.

Yes, but that's usually too costy for a random jeeb. Find a resto with big tables, lotsa outdoors space, etc.

We're about a month away. The details:

June 14, 6:00-9:30 at The Wolf in Oakland

Attending: Yule Kim, Mark Anisman, Larry Stein, Brad Kane, Steve Edmunds, Karen Goetz, me.

We have room for one more person if anyone is interested.

Those coming: Do we want to organize the wines or let folks surprise us? I'm fine either way, and also cool with drinking blind or not blind. I mention it early only in case people need to visit storage, etc.

Nine days away, so bumping this back up. Unless someone speaks up, we'll do a come-what-may approach on the wines. We still have room for one more, if anyone wants to join or if anyone attending wants to bring someone.

Really wish I could be there - sounds super fun - can't justify the carbon footprint though. Have fun!
 
i must bow out of the jeebus. i'm old and an indoor setting in the Alameda region (or simply the Bay Area) is just a bit above my risk level at present. i will be pleased to pay my portion so no one gets stiffed. i can send money to Jim by zelle if need be.
i apologize but i can not justify the risk. many of our friends, of which all are circumspect in regards to viral avoidance, are currently ill now or just recovering.
to make amends, i would gladly entertain each and every one of you in our delightful outdoor Yountville setting. and Jim might be enticed by 2003 Domaine Prieuré Saint Christophe Vin de Savoie Chignin Prestige or the 2003 Domaine Prieuré Saint Christophe Vin de Savoie Chignin Tradition (hand carried from the winery. will let you geuss which hand).......

Am assuming all local public health measures have been dropped (e.g., masks on public transport etc.) simply out of fatigue, but not because Covid transmission levels?

Sorry to hear it, Mark, but I understand. For what it's worth, we'll be seated on an outdoor covered patio, but it's still dinner with others around, unmasked. I just had Covid, returning to work this week. I'm 46, vaxed and boosted with no risk factors, and it still knocked me out for about six days and then lingered.

Look forward to drinking one of those Grisard wines someday!

Alameda County has reinstated many of the masking requirements.
