I bought a number of the recent Ogereaus, and they are definitely worth seeking out - they have that Special Something.

There's a blast from the past. Haven't seen that name in a while. Have there been changes in the domaine? New winemaker? My memory was of fairly workmanlike wines, but glad to hear there is Something Special.

Which ones?

In my market I see:
Anjou Vent de Spilite Ogereau (Domaine) 2020
Quarts de Chaume Single Barrel Ogereau (Domaine) (50cl) 2018
Savennières Clos le Grand Beaupréau Ogereau (Domaine) 2020
Savennières L'Enthousiasme Ogereau (Domaine) 2020
Savennières La Saponaire Ogereau (Domaine) 2020
Savennières Clos le Grand Beaupréau Ogereau (Domaine) 2019

Hi Oswaldo,

Sorry, that was vague. I've just had the Anjou en Chenin and Vent de Spilite and have the petillant and other Anjou blanc on deck. If you can try the Vent de Spilite, do. Also the '18 and '19 Anjou rouge Tailles. A friend I trust distributes these and he said he tasted through the whole line up and was really impressed.

Rahsaan, yes, new winemaker/son: https://www.beckywasserman.com/domaines/ogereau/#.YseajuzMI1I

Thanks for the rec. Really enjoyed a 2020 Ogereau Clos Le Grand Beaupréau 13,0% over the last two days. Pale yellow, already approachable for a Savennières this age, green apples and white flowers, some glycerin before food, balanced, crystal clear (like teh proverbial mountain spring) and quite moreish. Next up, the 2020 Saponaire.

In the subsequent weeks we opened a 2021 Ogereau Beaupréau and the Saponaires from 2020 and 2021. Definitely liked the Beaupréaus more, possibly because the Saponaires need more bottle time. The latter were a bit fatter, had a bit more glycerin, and appeared less racy and mineral.
