Ott Bandol

Good suggestions, Jim. I'll add a perennial favorite of Baudry's Chinon rosé. I just sprang for current release bottles of Bedrock's Ode to Lulu, Tablas Creek's Patelin de Tablas rosé and a couple of Steve's latest Bone-Jolly for comparison. The latest Rubentis that we tried was fine, but very light.

Seconds for all the above, except Bedrock's which I haven't had yet.

Ha-ha, that's practically a non-sequitur. But sadly not unusual.

...My rep came back and said his sales manager didn't feel we were supporting Rombauer enough so there would be no LdH Rosado for us. ...Somehow they were able to allocate us a 6-pack of Rosado that afternoon, and in a magnanimous show of good faith, bonhomie and no-hard-feelings, the shop now goes through a case of Rombauer Zinfandel every month.
I see you found the right path through the Rombauer portfolio. I was fairly impressed with the winemaker and Fiddletown samples she showed at a ZAP panel earlier this year.

2014 Clos Cibonne Cuvée Prestige Caroline 13.5% was magnificent last night, having shrugged off the year spent in oak that was still faintly noticeable a year ago.

My go to rose has become Bermejos Roasado from the Canary Islands. David Bowler import.
Could you say a little more about this one - I’ve not heard of it?

100% Listan Negro. Always shows minerality, salinity, great acidity too. I imagine this could age well but we plow through it too quickly. lovely wine.

I've drunk a handful of bottles of Terrebrune, and enjoyed every one quite a bit.

as long as we stay in Bandol, I gladly second Steve's recommendation with the caveat that ageing Delille's rosé has led to a couple of "aha!" moments.

another outstanding pink Bandol is Gros Noré

Jim etal, good calls, everyone. After sampling tonight, y'all are correct that the Dom Ott Romassan Bandol Rose '21 doesn't measure up. I should have ignored the touts I received elsewhere.

I've seen touts on these -- any thoughts?...

Dom Ott Romassan Bandol Rose '21 -- Blush gold color, impressive bouquet, citrus/floral notes, firm body, balance of fruits and acid, full mouth feel, pleasing intensity, sustaining length, better than I remembered, delicious. [E]

Worked ideally with fried chicken on mixed green salad w/La Martinique French Vinaigrette dressing.

The issue with LdH Rosado is it's become a cult wine with commensurate secondary market prices.

I highly recommend getting your hands on the Akutain Rioja Rose, I believe that 2016 is the current voyage. You will, however, save no money in the pursuit...
