I recently purchased an '89 Muller Catoir Mussbacher Eselshaut Scheurebe Auslese Trocken and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with MC Scheurebe trocken in general. In other words, how likely is this to be over-the-hill?
I recently had an '01 MC Haardter Burgergarten Riesling Spatlese Trocken which was incredible and thrilling, but different grape variety and 12 years younger. I'm hoping though the '89 still has a similar lightning left in the bottle.
The wine was listed as an Mussbacher Eselshaut Scheurebe Auslese, so I was surprised to find out it was a trocken when I picked it up at the wine store. When I tried to look it up on CellarTracker, there was no listing for it (I ended up creating one).
Thanks in advance.
