You may recall that Dominique Belluard, a force of nature in the Savoie, died in 2021 click.

The 2021 harvest was brought in by the crew and the wines made by various friends of the family, among them Francois Ganevat.

I recently learned that the family has sold the domaine, with stipulations on (essentially) continuing Dom's work. Many eagerly applied but the winner is Vincent Ruiz, from Cornas click.

Bonne chance, Vincent.

A little more detail came today in an email blast from Flatiron Wines:

Frank Balthazar, his winemaking assistant Vincent Ruiz, and Belluard’s French distributors Raphaël Bennour and Miguel Sarzier decided to purchase the estate; Ruiz was installed as the person on the ground in charge of farming and vinification. They built a new, gravity-fed cuverie and Domaine du Gringet was born.

I'll be interested to see how these wines progress under new ownership. I really liked Belluard. I have a few of the last vintage that was made by friends of the estate I think.
