Another fine example of older SCMV Pinots...

Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard Santa Cruz Pinot Noir Reserve '01 -- still solid red, nice aromatics, good body/structure/core of fruit, desirable traditional Pinot style (alc 12.5%), holding nicely (just as Ken Burnap's and Jeff Emery's Pinots are known to do). [E]

Went well with meatloaf, sweet potato fries, and black-eyed peas.

Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard Vine Hill Vineyard Reserve Pinot Noir '12 -- Inky dark, lots of sediment, forward bouquet of dark fruits etc, full mouth feel, structured/big/youthful profile, complex flavors that carry forward nicely, built for the long haul. [E]

Served with turkey meat loaf and green bean salad, then chocolate chip cookie.
