It's Thanksgiving in the US.

2021 Foillard Fleurie. Closed for bizness.

No backup? Maybe you weren't doing the Thanksgiving Thing.

You're correct, just an ordinary Portuguese evening. Keeping half for tonight is the closest thing to intertemporal backup.

Extradimensional Old Vine Grenache
Loved this. Looks like a Jura Poulsard in the glass but sneaky body and tannins.
Very much in the infusion vs the extraction style.
Yep, threw me for a loop. So different from their last grenache, to say nothing of all the others.

2001 Selbach-Oster Graacher Domprobst auslese - vibrant and delicious

2008 Dujac Morey St Denis - I remain a fan of this vintage and this wine - showed well with duck breat.

2021 Burlotto Fresia was nice but got tiring
2019 Giacosa Langhe was ok but needs time
Nowack Terres Bleues was excessively boisterous but not offensive
Dark meat confit is the shiznit

2014 Chevalerie Bretêche
2021 Thillardon Chenas Vibration
2019 Pinon 19 Vouvray Brut

Wonderful accompaniments to a huge spread of veggie dishes and some slightly overdone (MR-Med) magrets. Firing 12 at once in a tiny kitchen was maybe more than I should have signed up for.

Oof, that's a lot of work, watching for doneness, timing the resting, and so on. I was satisfied to wrangle one large bird and make a fuss over the starters and sides.

Extradimensional for me too. 2019 Hold Me Tight. On the spicy purple fruited side of things for a Hardy Mourvèdre. Very tasty over a couple days.

And another bottle of 2019 base Robert Moncuit Les Grands Blancs. Goes down easy.

I've looking over this thread in a piece-meal fashion, but it seems as though there is a surprisingly large variety of wines cited, many of them being not what one might normally expect.

Well done.

not everyone had turkey!

Jim, great choice on the Carruades de Lafite '20 (note spelling).

[EDITED TO ADD] That reminds me one of the times years ago I was at Grandfather and found the Carruades '76 at Eric's which was memorable.

What did you think of Port Sainte Jean?
I really liked the 14 I tried from Chevalerie, it was the Breteche cuvée. Joyful wine.

Unfortunately this bottle was slightly brett-affected; otherwise this seemed like a fantastic wine with an unusually chiseled sense of lift in the finish for the general region.
