Suddenly Italy

A night off from restaurant dining in Florence saw us preparing steaks and fresh pasta (with a gf option for Jean). I managed to secure a bottle of the 2020 Az Ag Caparsa Chianti Classico, a VLM Selection (TM). It didn’t disappoint. Lush cherry fruit, smooth tannins, fresh acidity and it holds its 13.5% ABV well. Yes, there was a delicacy and, dare I say?, elegance to this that I rarely encounter in CC. Now, on to find Monteraponi, Boncie and/or I Fabbri

Great to hear! I sometimes wonder if my tastes have become so idiosyncratic as to be useless to anyone else.

Maureen, it works by location. Or you can use the search bar at the bottom to look at eg a particular town's recommendations.

I was just in the absolute boonies in Piedmont and found a place I had never heard of through the app, and had a lovely meal.

I finally figured it out, but I guess was surprised by how few places in Florence it evaluates.

Thanks for responding

On the other bored, my friend Andy (AndyK on that bored) and his wife just returned from two weeks in Italy. His taste and breadth of knowledge, both on food and wine, are impeccable. I suggest you read his post for recommendations.

In Florence I really enjoyed c-ucina. Not far from center but pretty much locals only.
Disclaimer: wine list skews “natural”.
