Social media is occasionally useful.

Coming soon to my sister’s neighborhood:

A bit of searching unearths the following:

Then this more recent one:

(apologies for all the links but html is being wonky for me today)

Odd neighborhood to open in, but who knows, maybe it is very different these days.

That's what I though too when I first saw the announcement. Maybe it's the only spot where the lease can make any sense? Anyway, I'll for sure stop in the next time we're in SF but who knows when that will be.

West Portal nowadays has a Noe Valley/Glen Park feel to it. Lots of fairly affluent families, and there are quite a few restaurants opening up in the neighborhood.

Also, Stonestowne Galleria is nearby and that mall is bustling. It's basically the new Japantown. Lots of young people are there interested in Japanese food or anime/manga stuff.

The area, broadly speaking, seems to be attracting a lot of people and feels very vibrant.

Apparently good wine in Sardinian.

I've had some good Vermentino from Sardinia recently. Hopefully the new place will be carrying some interesting Sardinian white wines.

Hope you and Mary have been doing well Cole!

That's really funny to me. I went to high school right next to Stonestown and spent a lot of time there then, but haven't been back since!

Interesting. How things change. Couldn't really use a slash with Noe Valley when I lived in Glen Park. The former was much more affluent and housing prices were double to triple GP, the latter was pretty frumpy and boring with the only redeeming qualities being the nearby park and a BART station. West Portal, at that time, was super-frumpy and there was really no reason to go there. And Stonestown was a really trashy mall then, too.
