2020 Dehlinger, Pinot Noir Altamont - tastes like too much residual sugar for me; others seemed to like it
2019 Louis Michel, Chablis Forets - class; still open with great depth and character
2006 Drouhin, Vosne-Romanee Les Suchots - grumpy at first but opened over time; a bit rustic, not very Vosne but good wine - I’m guessing slight heat damage.
2017 Bruno Colon, Bourgogne (Chardonnay) - very good, maybe not as deep or intense as I’d like but integrated and easy to drink.
2022 Pepiere, Muscadet Clos des Briords - young, energetic, great flavors and cut; excellent future.
2019 Vincent, Pinot Noir Temperance Hill - simply put, one of the two domestic Pinots I have most enjoyed; extraordinary complexity, perfect balance and utterly delicious.
2019 Vincent, Chardonnay Royer Vnyd. - the initial French oak elements have integrated into the wine but This is still pretty closed. Better on day two but needs 3-5 years IMO.
2007 Cowan Cellars, Syrah Bennett Valley - my first wine, upon opening it smelled like Hermitage but with half an hour, it was all Bennett Valley. Both Diane and I liked it and felt the years had been kind. Never released.
2022 Scribe, Skin-fermented Chardonnay - (500ml) reminded me of aged Jura chard. Neither crisp nor bright but rather the essential elements of chard. that had twenty or more years on it. Very little of the phenolics often found in “orange” wine.
2022 Cortese, Carricante - Sicily makes some pretty whites and this is one. Lightweight and fresh. Not for aging but nice with a poached chicken dish.
2022 Frederic Esmonin, Bourgogne (rouge) Les Genevrieres - lots of fruit, good structure, fine grained textures and good length. Stops just short of flamboyant. Should age well.
2022 Dominique Gruhier, Bourgogne Epeneuil - a lovely expression of Pinot from ground that is almost in Chablis. Structured and fresh.
2021 Michel Tissot, Cotes du Jura Savagnin Nature - medium weight and with a slight bitter note but great textures and flavors. Pretty nice wine.
2021 Foillard, Morgon Cote du Py - beautiful, in every respect. A wine I could drink once a week for a very long time.
2022 Sandlands, Mencia - fruit driven and not especially complex but full flavored and nice textures.
2019 Cune, Rioja Crianza - I’m going back for a case of this; lightly rustic, more savory than sweet, light in the mouth but good sustain and decidedly old world in delivery. Excellent and not expensive.
2022 Navarro, Rose of Pinot Noir - the body and texture of Tempier but the flavors of Pinot. Perfect summer sipper.
2022 Brun, Morgon - needs some air time and then it is a joy to drink. Mid-weight, bright and juicy. Yum.
2022 Giacosa, Arneis - big for Arneis but lip smackingly good. Hard to believe this 14%.
2022 Picq, Chablis - delicious now but lots of upside.
