Tin Barn, Sauvignon Blanc, Sonoma County, Bennett Valley, 2006
Supposedly from the famed Dry Stack vineyard, this California sauvignon blanc is amazingly good. Aromatic, pinneapply, lemon mist, fresh lively with decent acidity, a bargain at $15.50, delivered. 14.1% A-

D. Ventura, Ribeira Sacra, 'Via do Burato, 2007
Swimmingly good mencia. Purplish cranberry red. An aromatic nose of red rose, Irish moss, oyster brine and sponge mask. Bright cherry flavors, cherry-strawberry Koolaid, a slight iodine but not overdone as the Beaujolais do. There is a seaweed-dashi dimension to the finish which adds a nice touch. 12.5% A-

That's the first Tin Barn wine I've seen someone say something good about.

Jim, my only reference point, lured by the wine seller's sweet prose, justified in this case. [note that this is/was the last/only year it is sourced from this vineyard, so I wouldn't expect a re-peat] And it comes in a screw cap. What's not to love?

I think "Florida" likes some Dry Stack SBs. Doesn't he?

I'm not going to have access to the internet for the next several days. Hence,
retribution for my new handle will be delayed.
But you're right about the vino. That is a good vineyard for all sorts of grapes.
Best, Jim
