Need Riesling help on list

I would have definitely picked the two 2007 Breuer wines and the 07 Diel Pinot. Not the best vintage but so hard to find older ones and those prices are extremely good.

Curious what you thought of the condition. I have been there before and I was not sure of how the wines have been stored.

The cork looked decent - what I sort of associate with older rieslings, half soaked, soft. I didn't think twice about condition.

Intrigued by the Pinot, I missed that. We might need to go back.

Sort of embarrassed to admit I had the Kung Pao chicken (it was cold and rainy and I needed comfort food) and my brother in law had the pork. Tuna tartar too, and spring rolls.

The food was ok. It's a big production restaurant with the symphony crowd rushing thru early...it's not what it used to be. I still like it though. We had a great, spunky waiter.
 
BTW, if any of you are into symphonic music, and are in Seattle, our symphony is really pretty good, I think flies under the radar a bit...

I think 2007 Diel Pinots were still a bit modern / polished. I would try it just because it is so rare. The 2019 Auction Pinot that was just sold is excellent.

If modern, will skip. We rarely have German pinot so it's all rare to us.

Any you recommend broadly?

I'm pretty sure that Caroline Diel was not yet in charge back in 2007. She's really upped the quality since then.

Haven't been upstairs to WG for years, but the Triple Door shares the wine list and a portion of the menu. Unfortunately this list is not updated all that often. I had the 2000 Druet about 14 months ago I think and it was solid and at that price a nice bargain. It has been sold out since however, but perhaps they were able to get it back as the N. Rhone list does seem to have been updated. Used to be nice bargains in Cote Rotie and Cornas (still think the Faury $ are attractive).

Of course none of these wines match the food (which I find a bit average), but are enjoyable with the music at the Triple Door if you get the dining out of the way first. Wish they would have more shows that I am actually interested in.

Seeing the Faure at Benaroya on Thursday.
