So, my 99 de Montille Volnay? 2020?

2030? Is this the village-level Volnay, Jeff? I've got some '99 Taillepieds that I'll probably leave to my grandchildren in 2088.

No, at least I think not. Paid under $60 for it.

The SAQ Signature Store has a bunch of de Montille wines and this was the only one I could afford. (shortly after having seen Mondovino)

No it's approachable now. The '99s seem quite open at the moment, although I would give most of them 5-10 more years. This was also when Etienne took over fully, no?

Etienne fully took over with 2007 and his intention is to make the wines that will age but that one doesn't have to wait a long time for.

See how much better this worked than the Shafer as a first post?

Peter, I hope you don't become another statistic like Mike.

I love this site - tough to read, but like the back n forth.

Tom are you saying the range due to the vintage? What would your expectations be on timing for popping one?

Keep in mind that Tom is one that likes his Burgundies on the older side.

The "range" because de Montille has excellent vineyards and exceedingly competent winemaking.

My guess is he would say to wait another 7 to 10 years.

Answering for others is another proud tradition of Wine Disorder.

Quite correct-a noble tradition, it seems.
