This line-up is very attractive, especially as paired.

I’m always curious about portion size when I see these menus. I don’t eat near what I used to and this looks like a lot of food. Of course, cuisine these days is a bit different from what I’m used to.

Anyway, this is one dinner I’d like to have been at the table for; especially with that Batard.

Until the beef course, portion size was okay, but the beef was too large (and too delicious).

Yes, the Leflaive Batard was definitely up to par.

It was a great dinner and only could have been improved with a more traditional sequence of the wines with Burgundy last. The Pousse d'Or was a star along with the Leflaive.

Beef? The menu says lamb? How was the Les Cailloux? I found the wines between 1998 and 2003 to age much too fast. Then I stopped buying them. I miss their wines from the 80s up to 98.

Lamb followed by Filet. About twice the food I'd max.

Jonathan, good call.

The Brunel Cailloux CNdP '01 was at the end of its favorable "window" so it was excellent now but seemingly with no where to go. Perhaps tempering my comment here is my very favorable opinion toward southern Rhone wines and CNdPs in particular so some other people might have been less impressed. The guys near me liked it as did I.
