and I consistently dislike their Pelaverga, much to Pavel’s chagrin.

I think I have yet to taste Burlotto's Pelaverga. We were going to have an Alessandria vs Burlotto Pelaverga fest last month, but that's been postponed for sometime later this year.

Oh. Maybe so. My brain may have merged the two in relation to you. I don’t like Alessandria’s Pelaverga either.

Have you tried the Castello di Verduno Pelaverga? It's quite good.

Yes. Saturday. See above. That was the best of three for me. I found it decent.

Depends on the vintage.

what claude said: it's pelaverga. i generally like fra alessandria, except in vintages when it gets a bit blocky.

but, tbh, we is talking (old style) glou glou. is like arguing about the relative merits of kirsten dunst -- it doesn't matter teh direction of your views, get too extreme either way you will end up looking like a stalker.

fb.

I opened the fourth one tonight: Terre del Barolo 2021 Verduno Pelaverga - bright and acidic, as were they all; again rather more vinous than glou-glou, lightweight texture; no slouch at 14% but good at the table against a richly-textured paprikash.
