I saw the scientific presentation at the American Diabetes Association meeting in 2008.. it was quite impressive...it was actually the equivalent of 400 glasses of wine in each pill...Glaxo is working to bring this to the market...

How American can you get...take a pill rather than exercising and eating right!!

This shit's going straight into my R21 on resveratrol next week. You think the NIH has a subscription?

I think that the Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, citing overwhelming public support for their views as evidenced by last November's election results, have decided that in the name of fighting the recession funding for NIH must be eliminated.

Well, that's certainly a relief. Now I can just make up whatever wacky shit I want with no worries about funding, hence no accountability.

I thought that all you scientist-types had figured out that the work-around to obtain funding over the past eight years was simply to prove some sort of Department of Defense correlation to whatever NIH-related initiative it was that you wanted to mess around with in the first place.

-Eden (my friend at Georgetown encountered some difficulties in melding her field with DOD interests, but WTF, she convinced the Air Force that her studies in sex differences and cholesterol would be applicable in a fighter jet and her program got funded and has gone on to benefit humanity far beyond the confines of the cockpit)
