Some wines are so not good I don't drink them. This isn't one of those. Some wines are complex and require multiple tastings under varying circumstances to fully understand. I'm pretty sure this is not one of those. Some are very plain of character but go well with a hamburger. This is probably one of those. It smells strongly of medicinal herbs, is very light in body and texture, and tastes like a young Pinot Noir sans oak (cherry, violet and a tiny amount of black tea). Actually, now that I think of it, it more reminds me of a Domaine Chandon Pinot Meunier that I've had a few times. I don't know a lot about Cab Franc, having drunk more from California than France, but this is not at all what I was expecting. I'm sort of enjoying it but can't be certain it's not due the oddity of it more than the actual taste experience. It's thin and... shy, I suppose. Definitely the kid picked on by the bullies at recess. If I had more experience with Cab Francs I wonder if I would love or hate it. Instead, I'm just drinking it. Washes down the chicken pot pie well enough.
Not that I'm in the habit of drinking wine from Georgia but since I live here I feel obligated to try once in a while.
