She's baaack!

Nat Decants has taken to spamming me again, at two different email addresses.

I wonder what motivates a person to do that sort of thing?

Yeah, I got it, too.

Now that she's selling her web site, at least the emails are a bit shorter. But watch out she's started twittering, and I am sure that a dozen Canadian tech guys are trying to figure out how to send them out to the entire planet, subscriber or not.

I got it, too, and I don't get any other wine-related spam. Those Canadian tech guys are good!

By the way, if anyone not on Nat's mailing list would like to receive her spam, send me your email address and I will be happy to pass it on.

(The preview function is apparently not working for me anymore on Safari v. 3.2.1.)

Seems okay on my version of Safari 3.2.1.

In fact, I just triple-previewed! That was pretty darn cool.

Damn. Let's see if it works with a "quote reply". If not, time to reboot the computer.

Nope. Reboot time.

Why would anyone use Safari?

I didn't get the spam.

It's the best alternative I've got installed on my Mac at home. It's stable and handles most websites correctly. It seems to me less prone to memory leaks than Firefox; I can run it for a couple of weeks without losing performance.

I've also got Firefox installed on the Mac, but use it only for a wacky webmail program. I've had Firefox problems on my Linux machine at work; lots of sites crash the browser, and clicking on the red glass icon for the Disorder "...Inauguration..." thread causes my work machine to go into a soft reboot.

I'd be happy to hear suggestions for browsers you think are better, though.

I didn't get the spam.

I'd be happy to pass your email address on to Nat if you'd like.

More importantly, is your preview function working okay after a reboot?

Why wouldn't they use Safari?

Nope. Must be some setting or other (though they look OK based on a quick check) or some software I've loaded. Maybe something with Javascript, though I can post. I'll look into it when I get a chance. Despite the VLM's skepticism, preview is a highly useful feature.

I think vlm just has Apple-envy.

We should find some way to honor Nat, champion spammer. Maybe find some way to have her dine with Brad Kane, and then pay Brad to attend, maybe on a per-photo basis?
