Here at our house we're going with a magnum of Kangaroo Crossing Shiraz South Eastern Australia 2006! Eight bucks at Astor, wooooooo! Cheap shiraz FTW!

And you...?

Wow. Is there a live feed anywhere? Tim Gunn is manning the red carpet now, he's talking to Kate Winslet. She says she's afraid she'll trip in her couture gown.

If I'm going to have to watch this show, I'm going to need something tasty. Having had a perfectly nice red from Lazio at dinner, I'm looking for a half bottle at this point. What wine goes with Oscar?

What are the Oscars?

Not "what", but "who".

They're my neighbors, Wally & Wendy Oscar. They're good people to live next door to, since they're Seventh Day Adventists and don't listen to loud music all night, they don't dance, drink or seem to have any fun at all other than reading the bible. Combined with my other neighbors who are esthete yogis who meditate for 18 hours a day, it creates a zone of tranquility in an otherwise cacophonous world.

You need to watch this. It is my favorite non-winning animated short.

It is only about 2 minutes long but it may take an hour to load completely.

I'm a dual fan of cephalopods. I think they are wonderful and smart and beautiful and fascinating.

And delicious.

Sometimes that makes me feel rather guilty...

Actually, this shiraz kind of sucks.

It took 2 hours to discover that? Must have taken most of the bottle. Condolences, although I get the urge to pair cheap shiraz with these...
