Cote-Rotie 2006, Jean-Paul Brun

Anyone tasted this wine; Cote-Rotie 2006 from Jean-Paul Brun/Domaine Terres des Roties? I had it a few days ago at a tasting. Ok it is outside Beaujolais, but it has Jean-Paul Bruns mark all over it. More elegant than powerful and typically Brun-styled fruit and complexity. Cool-fruited with flowery top-notes. Pretty handled tannins and a fine bracing acidity. I would be very interested to try this again in a few years. As I have understood this is the second vintage of this wine and that there also is a Condrieu made.

Wow, this is great news! Thanks for the heads-up. I was just recently lamenting the underrepresentation of good producers in that hallowed AOC. And perhaps Brun's pricing is less than stratospheric, too.

At the same time, perhaps this AOC will allow him to earn a bit more of a margin than the Beaujolais wines.

I suspect him of consorting with Eric.
But they live so far away from each other. ;)

Boy, everybody's an art director these days.

Not everybody.

Just me.

Out of curiosity, do you like the label?

I can't even make it out in that picture. It looks like a sinister alien tentacle hovering over a map of Africa.
