Ah, good stuff.

I'm just happy that, as of this week, Obama chose a Portuguese Water Dog over a Labradoodle.

It's bad enough having two damn Labradoodles on the beach and some debutante says "Oh my GAWD; is that a doodle?"

I've also learned that fucking Jamie Goode breeds these things.

You just went all trendy. We owned PWDs starting back in '88 when the entire world registered population was under 400 and one of the few breeders in the world was at a small lake in Centerville. First Tom and Tom the Juice Guys went and put a PWD on their label, then that drunk guy from Hyannisport got a couple to chase away wind farm developers, and soon we'll be seeing "PWD Memories from the Rose Garden" on local bookshelves. Canine Hip Dysplasia will be running rampant from mass overbreeding. Oh the travesty.

We were going to get a PWD last year, but there were none available in our area at the time we wanted one. Thats when we learned about the Labradoodle. Amy wanted a non-shedding dog, and I wanted a big dog. We had no idea what designer hybrid meant. They are actually sweet dogs, and attack Peter Czyreeeka whenever he comes over. What more could you ask?

I want a Saint Berdoodle for our next one...

What the article fails to note is that in the early days of BARK, Father Guido in full regalia could be seen in charge of the canine corps. On a vaguely related note, Don Novello is a funny, funny guy and his book is well worth reading for anyone alive and cognizant in the early '70s.
