Basic Austrian Liquids

I recently spent a few days in Tirol for a family wedding and every night we drank plenty. Many of the others present wanted to drink the boring red wines that were available everywhere, but I always made sure we had a pipeline of white wine. In some respects it was a shame because there were lots of great values on the lists (many Smaragd or equivalent cuvees from top producers were 30-50euros) but we were rowdy, numerous, and festive so these three entry-level wines were our mainstays:

2007 Alzinger Frauenweingarten Grner Veltliner Federspiel
A bit taut even for me, but it cleans away the palate after taking bites of food so nobody complained during the dinner service.

2007 Brndlmayer Grner Veltliner Kamptaler Terrassen
More interesting than the Alzinger grner with some shy reserves and hints of personality behind the initially crisp and taut showing. As such, it is easier to keep ordering bottles of this one.

2007 Brndlmayer Riesling Kamptaler Terrassen
Right now, this was by far and away the most interesting of the three and the one that got the most repeat orders. Zingy, fresh, verdant, mineraly, juicy, easy to like and easy to drink.

It isn't that much of a sacrifice to forego the expensive wines, when you can pick these three. What about Tiroler Wein - did you try anything interesting?

Didn't see (or notice) any on the lists.

We did have some Tiroler beer but almost everyone except me was German so as you can imagine they were not impressed.
