Foodie Forum?

I changed my mind. Not only should we not have a Foodie forum, I think we should get rid of this forum too. Long live the Jeebus forum!

Hitler was a foodie.

Wrong.

"While this is the main meal, it is as simple as one could imagine. Hitlers repast usually consists of some vegetable stew, followed by stewed fruit as dessert. This he tops with one or two glasses of beer (the extent of his alcoholic indulgence). Hitler eats rapidly, mechanically. For him food is merely an indispensable means of subsistence. In the course of a few minutes he is finished, but the entire meal usually lasts two hours.

Well, the first thing we need is a Forum to discuss which Fora we ought to have.

I think we need a blue ribbon study panel for this.

Perhaps we can find some disinterested observers, including Jimmy Vino, and that guy with all the Ptrus (APR?).

Perhaps we should have a Foramenifera Forum.

But he was undead:
Around 0200 he went out in the open, to walk up and down in front of his bunker. He always took his daily walk at night, completely alone. Hitler was highly susceptible to exposure to the sun which seemed to affect his brain in some way. Generally a man who lived at night.

Well, I usually exclaim "Cervelles! Au beurre noisette!!!"

But I'm not saying which category I belong to, at this point.

What is it with all this foraging for fora? Ain't this place good enuf?

Joe, I assume you surveyed your Hokkigai for invaders before slaying it, no?

If not, I can find you an open slot in clinic.

The most effective diets usually involve invaders. My Christmas episode which you talked me through got me ten free pounds.

so, Joe, what was the clam, was it just one, did you prepare it with a knife, or light sabre? did you have it with flavoring agents, brines, raw?...just where did the failure begin and end?

in the meantime, here's what i prepared last night.....

IMGP0108.jpg
fresh, alive, vigorously squirming and possibly pondering it's fate while we plowed thru other menu items and wines before it's course. i felt sorry for it so before i pulled out the knife, i gave it a last rite by submerging it in a small bowl of premium sake for about 5 minutes....i think it was pretty relaxed about things after this....or maybe it was dead even.....no more guilt-producing squirms tho.

cut the whole critter away from the shell. separate the inards (which also taste great, in a truffly, pate kind of way. slice thin strips of the foot and enjoy with no shoyu or wasabi. it's got that sea essence thing going...crunchy and satisfying. then i took the remainder and put it all back into the shell and sizzled it briefly on a cast iron fan in butter and a little ponzu to steam it under it's own lid. total cooking time was about 2 minutes.....tender and a real tasty competitor to the raw version.

The food in Germany is wonderful. I've had memorable meals in Autobahn truck stops.

Damn, Joel, ever heard of a kitchen towel/catcher's mitt?

The follow up to my home Hokkigai story should be reserved for a food forum.
