Clear Lake suggestions sought

I'm going to be near Clear Lake next weekend for an afternoon (prolly Friday). I think we'll be visiting Ceago.

Got any other suggestions for organic, bioD or other interesting wineries to drop in on near there? I know there's a kazillion places worth visiting in the greater surrounding area (and have been to a couple dozen of them) but I'm wondering specifically about tasting rooms that might be near the lake.

Different Clear Lake. This one has hills around it. I like what Spencer-Roloson is doing with their vineyards in California's Clear Lake AVA but I don't recall them being biodynamic or organic or anything. Just good farming. I don't think they have a tasting room but the wines are really well made and taste good.

Sauvignon Blanc. A lot of good SB being grown up there. Lolonis has some nice wines, Petite Sirah in particular, much of it organic. It's always worth checking out what Jed Steele is up to, the last bottling of Dupratt Zin I had from him was stellar. He also produces oddities like Aligote and Lemberger from Washington.
 
A not-very-long drive west on route 20 will take you to Redwood Valley in Mendocino County (also home to Lolonis, as mentioned above.)

You'll also find Frey Vineyards there (not to be confused with Frei, the Gallo subsidiary) - a biodynamic producer with a long history. The wines have been inconsistent at best, but if the viticulture is what interests you...

I hope to get to Mendocino -- in fact, it was my first choice of destination. At the same time, one of my traveling companions is making a hard push for Ceago and Clear Lake. I was afraid the drive might be too far since we'll probably only have 3 hours or so.

Apparently they Frey family is going to be out of town on that weekend. Visited them once several years ago and concur with your assessment. The wines were kinda "eh" but the people and their processes were fascinating.

I am always seeking the odd in wine - thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely follow up on them.
