La Percee du Vin Jaune 2010 - Help

I agree that December's a better idea. Christmas best of all, but of course that has the potential of being a terrible time to try to visit wineries.

Mike, not in late January, no. Late December/early January, yes, many times, and there were few closings then, except for the actual holidays (which, I realize, is a big "except" when it comes to France). But glancing at the Michelin Guide, I do indeed see some dire stretches for the gastronomically-inclined. So I take your point.

Any recent updates on the Jura?
I will be in Germany the second half of April and am planning a 3 day excursion to the Jura.
I thought we might start in the south in Saint-Germain-ls-Arlay as it seems to have a nice Hotel and Restaurant, then make our way towards Arbois. On the way home a stop at the Sundgauer Kas Kaller with Maitre Anthony, hopefully.

Any suggestions regarding especially friendly wineries and places to eat/shop food are extremely appreciated.

What better way to celebrate the resurrection of Christ than to resurrect an old thread and create confusion because 2009 is not 2010.

Weirdly, 23 growers from the Jura will be showing wines in New York on April 22nd, thus being out of town for Georg's visit, and also conflicting with the Dressner tasting.

No kidding. I'll have to email you for details.

Who needs that Dressner stuff anyway?

How f'ing weird! That's exactly when I get into Arbois as well. Party in the Jura! We'll be there for two days. Georg, shoot me a PM if you'd like to grab a drink. I'm guessing we won't be making many appointments and will thusly have a lot of free time to relax.

I can't believe there's going to be so many Jura producers in fucking New York then. Goddammit!!! Yes, please, Levi, if you have a list, either send it or post it. I just sent M. PUFFENEY an email today asking for an appointment, hopefully he won't be in NYC.
