Von Schubert Maximin Grnhuser Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett 1998er Bright yellow wine with a petrol-apple nose without the reductive nature some of these have when younger, slight spritz when first opened then it settled into a nice lemon-apple-flint palate with a long finish. Drinking very well now. A surprisingly brilliant match with good old grilled Johnsonville bratwurst.

AP number of the wine already forgotten but retrievable for those cataloguing such things. Not sure if the bratwurst have a lot number.

Why did that surprise you?

I don't eat meat but given the origins of the wine it doesn't seem far-fetched to me.

The preferred match where I grew up was beer. Then again, I am easily surprised.

Geez, McQ, I guess they let anyone in here...

Nice pics though, and I woulda loved to have tasted the both o' those! Bet they'da been great mid-day at "the spit" on the North River at the mouth of the Massachusetts Bay, eh?

Where the hell are the pre-packaged winkie faces around here? Do I have to do one my own self?!

Unfortunately it is very hard to acquire Old Style out here on the right coast.

As for your cutsie winkies, I refer you to the FAQs... lookout!
