Joguet question

It's only $25? I remember these wines being somewhere around $35 on release ten years ago, back when Raffault was $15. I think one of the pointy people liked them or something. I figured they'd be cracking $50 by now.
I don't know what they normally go for, but I thought the 1997 Verset for $25 was a good deal, too. If they still have the Joguet for a little while, I'll probably pick one up as well.

Cristian,
Have no fears about HDH. I've been dealing with them since before they were HDH, and their storage and attention to provenance is meticulous. They are one of those retailers who have no real storefront presence (there is an office and a cellar, nothing more) so dealing with them from afar is pretty much their SOP.

Also they warn you when something looks wrong about the bottle, like "signs of past seepage", etc.
My recollection of the HDH email was that the Joguet wines all came with such warnings, so I passed.

I agree, HDH has always done right by me.

I love the 1996 Joguets and maybe the Varennes is starting to open up nicely but the others are going to stay in the locker for awhile longer. I've even liked the 97s, but there doesn't seem to be much of a future for them, whereas the 96s will likely outlive me, assuming I stick around long enough to find out.

Dan,

How was the 05? Is it closed or still open? We had it in NYC in Oct and I liked it enough to track some down and was wondering if it could be a good summer wine for when I get back to the US.

As a data point, I bought some 05 Joguet Petites Roches recently, which I think is tremendous for about $16, but needs a looooong decant to show well right now (like, all day).

Thanks, Ian. I just bought a few of the '05 Petite Roches' in half bottles and was wondering about them being far too young to be enjoyable.
