Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick, RIP

Jonathan Loesberg
A couple of day ago, but I've been busy. Not a wine geek, but if this board can note the passing of Pierre Bourdieu, we should certainly note Eve's. She can be fairly said to have inaugurated queer studies with Between Men and The Epistemology of the Closet and thus was one of the most important literary scholars of our time. I knew her when I was a graduate student and she was a post-doc at Cornell and I can also say that she was a delightful human being. She died of cancer at 58 years old.

Thanks, Jonathan and Claude for calling out the lives of both of these women whose courage, intellect and hearts will continue to inspire the next generations... given the social climate until recent signs of hope I might have feared for their legacies but truly I wish for some sort of social reflection and grace visited upon this country.
I'm certainly invigorated and I'm looking over "The Epistemology of the Closet."
