I see where a noted wine critic has provided a lift to sagging spirits in Bordeaux as he declared the 2008 vintage as excellent and gave very high praise to numerous Bordeaux wines.

I wonder if this article indicates:

1) the (in some circles) supposed disparity between the palates of RP and the British;

or

2) that RP is totally off base with his assessment of the 2008 vintage.

It will be interesting to see what other wine reviewers think of the 2008 Bordeaux.
