2003 Chateau Ksara (Lebanon)
$23 Ohio. Ruby in color, with some purple swirls. Mostly opaque and bright. The nose is Bordeaux-like. Tobacco, cassis, leather, cherries. Nice. Full bodied. Complex. On the palate, this has nice cassis with a bit of a tobacco/green pepper streak that I enjoy if not too prominent. To me, this drink a lot like a good 2002 Bordeaux. Well worth the money, but I dont think I would cellar this for a lot longer.

It has been a while since I last visited Lebanon, but I remember Ksaras as being rather oaky. I think they all smelled of Christmas spices. Have they toned down the oak since the 2002 vintage?
