Suggestion Box

Being able to e-mail a disorderly from within a post would also be handy. It's a little cumbersome to have to go up to message and search for the person.

Would it be possible to see on a front page whether there are new posts in the Jeebus folder without having to actually go into the jeebus folder?

You know Brad, for a guy who everyone says is the head honcho in the Politburo, you are pretty demanding. Is this all smoke and mirrors?
Red herring Brad . . .
Best, Jim

Okay, and here I was thinking that I was lazy.

I feel much better about myself.

It's not like we didn't have this ability on our previous home, as well as most of the other things suggested so far. Just trying to suggest things that'll make things more user friendly.

Clearly, the goal here is Blackberry-friendliness, not user-friendliness.

I had naively hoped that the clean, stripped-down, late 90's-throwback design was a reflection of the aesthetic preferences of the Politburo, a design consistent with a preference for precise, high-acid, wines and a contrarian, mildly luddite worldview.

But you're probably right: it's that goddamn Blackberry again. The Politburo is simply the old elites sporting new, socialist haircuts; true revolution is, once again, postponed.

"True revolution?"
You better thank your lucky stars that "true revolution" is postponed. Wouldn't any of us enjoy that ride.
"Mildly luddite world view?"
I'm down with that.

Anyone else experiencing some weirdness with the e-mail notification? I get them alright, but they alternately show the first thread in the post, or, at times, the first and last, but not the stuff in between. That is, it doesn't just take you to the most recent post.

Actually, I think the software is trying to do the right thing, but with a little twist, so it comes out funny-looking: when you click, the sw wants to show you the initial post followed by the recent responses. (Remember, this sw seems to distinguish a 'post' from a 'response'.) So, if a thread has just gone to p.2 you will get a funny-looking truncated view.

I haven't seen any outright failures, but I note that it is very responsive as to when I look... if I look again a moment later, the red cup is off and it won't auto-jump to the spot. (This is rather unlike Therapy, which took about 10 minutes to update its records.)

It would would be easier for these eyes to distinguish new posts if the little word "new" at the top of each post were in, say, a different colored font.

For that matter, I'd rather the word "new" be replace by a symbol (perhaps "***") that indicates new-ness without triggering my letter-perceptors.

Anyway we can see the post/comment count of the disorderly by their name, like in the old digs, rather than having to click on the disorderly and going to their info? I'd like to easily see that I'm only 50 behind Coad right now as this is as close as I'll ever be.

I have noticed: when I click on a red glass next to a post that I have never seen before, it always scrolls me to the first reply (if there is one), not to the initial post itself. Can this be fixed? (Or, at least, find a way to indicate a completely new thread 'since last visit' on the front page?)

Thank you.
