Brun Blanc '07...

...becomes available in Finland! Not quite a hipster country yet, but nice to see something often praised on this forum become available. It's not a bargain here, though. But it was very nice: showing quite a bit of lactic aromas, but gladly no oak. Crisp, citric, quite round even. And most importantly, it was very much fun with a fillet of arctic char.

What do you mean? Finland is total hipster country. Didn't you see 'A Night On Earth'? And why do you think the Sex Pistols went there for their 20th anniversary reunion tour? Not to mention that's where all the hip conducters come from.

Even in Finland the Beaujolais Chardonnay is good value. Mazel tov!

Not on board for this one. I liked the '04 very much, but every vintage I've tasted since has been too round and sweetly-fruited for my preferences. Even the '07, which I thought would have a little more tension.

We're a poor second to Belgium, with tree tops so tall and mountains so high. But no, we're not hipster.

At almost 20 it is not good value, even though I found more to love than slaton.

At 20 euro I wouldn't put it into the good value corner either. The bottle I can get for $13 in Chicago is. I had my first bottle of this about a week ago. I liked it about as much as you did Otto, though I think I like the '07 l'Ancien Beaujolais more. Apples to oranges of course, but both Brun.
Oh, and you can leave the hipstering to the Swedes.
