Wow. Alive, vital, 11.5% of supple Syrah. Otheguy doesn't make them like this, although he comes close. Reminded me of Juge in all the right ways.

RetiredOtheguy took over the vineyards. It was in JLL's book, after all. I just didn't look carefully enough.

I was asking folks if Otheguy was available in NY last time I was there and they all thought I was bullshitting.

Is Vincente Gasse the same as Lafoy et Gasse?

According to JLL's latest: Vincent Gasse married Marie Lefoy, whose family owned the vineyards (M. Gasse is from the Loire). Gasse was 60 at the time of writing of the latest book and, according to JLL, had "hung up his spurs in 2004, making just four casks from his plot on Le Goutay" and has rented out his 1.3 ha of vineyards to his partner of seven years, Stphane Otheguy. Gasse was eco-bio and the work sounds pretty physically demanding, so no shock that he decided to cash it in at 60. He was listed as Gasse Lafoy, too.
