CA AlcoholsHad a conversation with a well known grower in this valley the other night. He's kept his own record of average temps in the valley (different regions) for over 30 years and anyone who doesn't believe in global warming after studying the #s would have to be totally retarded. Grape growing and wine making in the world will have to change area by area very radically he said, he also said he's glad he's too old to have to grapple with it.
I only brought this up because of your notes on the Ridge wines. Wines will come from more Northern climes in the future?
I'm sure New Zealand could spare some, if Australia could bring itself to ask nicely...Hey maybe they will pay you to visit Sydney and bring rain-even tho Nicole tells me the last 24 hrs has been a bit wet.

While the Cullens I've encountered have been better-balanced than a lot of their peers, I've never understood the hype. I was always told that it was just because I hadn't tasted the really good bottles. So I'd assume that this was one, and while some of the regular defenders seemed quite pleased with it (David Lole does read this site, albeit occasionally, and might pop in), I wasn't.I took an early 90's Cullen to a STL dinner-you should have seen Jim Dove's face when he first tasted it. Such a disappointment for an Oz icon-but par for the course all to frequently.
Sun and grner. That's what we go to Sydney for.As the photos show-a nice sunny day when you visit another American in Sydney.
