King Fung II rises

Showing very badly pretty much covers it. Not sure I need to know why, other than to determine if the remaining bottles get voted off the island. No slight intended, but the "It will get better, trust me" section of my basement is pretty full.

Both Champagnes were quite qood and very different.

Agreed. One was Pierre Moncuit Champagne Cuve Pierre Moncuit-Delos Blanc de Blancs Brut Grand Cru N.V. and the other was Billiot Champagne Millsim 1996 Brut (IIRC). Two strikingly different and equally pleasurable (to me at least) wines.

Was the Billiot well into maturity, or just starting to get there? I've got only 2, and was planning on waiting another couple of years to try one.

I thought the 96 Billiot was mature, but you might have different results. I, myself, have one bottle left and wont sit on it too long.

I saw the footage of the KFII "incident" the other day and am very glad to hear that everybody there is OK and that they are now open for business. Looks like you all had a great time. My favorite photo (besides the first one where Pmac is giving you the finger) is the one with the bird head in it--did you guys spin the beak to see who picked up the tab?

Joe, dem notes ought to be fun to read...

Michael

Agree with Joe re: the Billiot. Kudos to Michael for finding Pmac's version of Where's Waldo - a pictorial version of the most popular disorder word.

The damn bird would not sit still - it's amazing it is in focus.

I opened one of my 2 the other week and it was showing surprisingly mature. I had assumed it would be more for the long haul but apparently not. I'll definitely open my other one within the next few years.
